It was my 2 year old, Skyler, that started this whole thing. I started by making hair bows for her. I wanted something other than what I was finding in retail stores and at a cost I could afford. It didn’t take long for people to start asking me where I bought her bows. Needless to say I was totally surprised. Bows by Skyler was born. I began selling hair bows for every occasion. It was during this time that the pillowcase dress idea was birthed.

In early 2005 Grandma Parker began embroidering pillowcases as a way to relax. After finishing several, and not knowing what to do with them, it was decided by her granddaughter that it would be a great idea to turn the pillowcases into dresses for all her great granddaughters. Grandma was so excited and they had planned to try it. However, on August 22, 2005 Grandma Parker unexpectedly went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. That Christmas the dresses were given to each of Grandma’s great granddaughters. In honor of Grandma Parker the great granddaughters had there picture taken in the pillowcase dresses, as seen above.

It was those very dresses that inspired me to make more to fill my daughters wardrobe. Once again people began to ask where I got them. It didn’t take long for orders to come rolling in. I saw a need to expand the products I offered and Skyler’s Wardrobe was formed. Today, Skyler’s Wardrobe has been offering custom made dresses at reasonable prices since 2006.
